I am a historian and writer focused on telling stories about the connections between people, their environments, and technology.
Now a fourth-year doctoral candidate in History of Science at Princeton University, I earned an MA in History (emphasis in Public History) from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. My research focuses on histories of the environment and technology, and asks questions about how humans make meaning of their surroundings. My current project is a history of the scientific and social culture of storm chasing.
I’m dedicated to making relevant connections between scholarship and public understanding using a variety of tools: digital humanities, exhibit design, writing, and more. I am also the producer and host of Drafting the Past, a podcast devoted to the craft of writing history.
